Born in Galicia, North of Spain, he lives in Sitges since many years ago. He captures the Mediterranean light and he reflects it with remarkable ease and fluidity in his paintings.

The art critic Josep Maria Cadena defined him in an article in 2003 as “a painter with great knowledge… his landscapes of the coast offer the mobility of colour, within a very constructed configuration”.

With a great artistic quality, after being in Santvicens school, Rey is one of the painters who has participated more actively in cultural projects in Sitges. His relationship with Sitges dates back to 1984 in the old Ateneu de Sitges. Since those days he has not stopped exhibiting his work in different local galleries, either individually or in collective exhibitions.
